What should I discuss with my healthcare provider before taking Imodium?
• Before taking Imodium, tell your doctor if you
· have a condition that could be complicated by constipation,
· have ulcerative colitis,
· have liver disease,
· have blood or mucus in the stool,
· have a fever of 101 degrees Fahrenheit or higher, or
· are taking an antibiotic imodium ad.
• You may not be able to take Imodium, or you may require a dosage adjustmentor special monitoring during treatment imodium ad.
• Imodium is in the FDA pregnancy category B imodium ad. This means that Imodium isnot expected to harm an unborn baby imodium ad. Do not take Imodium without first talkingto your doctor if you are pregnant imodium ad.
• It is not known whether Imodium passes into breast milk imodium ad. Do not takeImodium without first talking to your doctor if you are breast-feeding a baby imodium ad.
• Imodium should not be used to treat a child younger than 2 years of age,except under the direction of a doctor imodium ad.

How should I take Imodium?
• Take Imodium exactly as directed by your doctor or follow the packagedirections imodium ad. If you do not understand these directions, ask your pharmacist,nurse, or doctor to explain them to you imodium ad.
• Take each dose with a full glass of water imodium ad. Drink plenty of fluid to preventdehydration for as long as the diarrhea continues imodium ad.
• To ensure that you get a correct dose, measure the liquid form of Imodiumwith the plastic dropper provided or with a special dose-measuring spoon orcup, not with a regular table spoon imodium ad. If you do not have a dose-measuring device,ask your pharmacist where you can get one imodium ad.
• Do not take more of this medication than is prescribed for you imodium ad. Talkto your doctor if your symptoms are not being controlled imodium ad.

What are the possible side effects of Imodium?
• If you experience any of the following serious side effects, stop takingImodium and seek emergency medical attention or contact your doctor immediately:
· an allergic reaction (difficulty breathing; closing of your throat;swelling of your lips, tongue, or face; or hives);
· development of a fever;
· persistent diarrhea (longer than 2 days); or
· blood or mucus in the stool imodium ad.
• Other, less serious side effects may be more likely to occur imodium ad. Continueto take Imodium and talk to your doctor if you experience
· abdominal pain, distention, or discomfort;
· nausea or vomiting;
· constipation;
· tiredness;
· drowsiness or dizziness; or
· dry mouth imodium ad.
• Side effects other than those listed here may also occur imodium ad. Talk to yourdoctor about any side effect that seems unusual or that is especially bothersome imodium ad.

What other drugs will affect Imodium?
• It is not known whether Imodium will interact with other medicines imodium ad. Talkto your doctor and pharmacist before taking any other prescription or over-the-countermedicines imodium ad.
