What is the most important information I should know about Inderal?
• Do not stop taking Inderal without first talking to your doctor drug inderal. Stoppingthe medication suddenly may result in angina (chest pain) and possibly a heartattack drug inderal. The dosage may need to be reduced gradually before stopping drug inderal.
• Call your doctor immediately if you experience shortness of breath drug inderal.

What is Inderal?
• Inderal is in a class of drugs called beta-blockers drug inderal. Beta-blockers affectthe heart and circulatory system (arteries and veins) drug inderal.
• Inderal is used to reduce hypertension (high blood pressure), to treatangina (chest pain), to treat irregular heartbeats, to treat migraines, to treattremor, and to reduce the risk of a recurrent heart attack drug inderal.
• Inderal may also be used for purposes other than those listed in thismedication guide drug inderal.
What should I discuss with my healthcare provider before taking Inderal?
• Do not take Inderal if you are taking thioridazine (Mellaril) drug inderal. Takingthese medicines together could result in dangerous, even fatal, irregular heartbeats drug inderal.
• Before taking Inderal, tell your doctor if you have
· asthma;
· heart problems such as low blood pressure, a slow heart rate, heartblock, sick sinus syndrome, a pacemaker, heart failure, or others;
· diabetes;
· depression;
· thyroid disease;
· kidney disease;
· liver disease; or
· any type of circulation problems drug inderal.
• You may not be able to take Inderal, or you may require a dosage adjustmentor special monitoring during treatment if you have any of the conditions listedabove drug inderal.
• Inderal is in the FDA pregnancy category C drug inderal. This means it is not knownwhether Inderal will be harmful to an unborn baby drug inderal. Do not take this medicationwithout first talking to your doctor if you are pregnant or could become pregnantduring treatment drug inderal.
• Inderal passes into breast milk and may affect a nursing infant drug inderal. Do nottake this medication without first talking to your doctor if you are breast-feedinga baby drug inderal.
How should I take Inderal?
• Take Inderal exactly as directed by your doctor drug inderal. If you do not understandthese directions, ask your pharmacist, nurse, or doctor to explain them to you drug inderal.
• Take each dose with a full glass of water drug inderal.
• Inderal can be taken with or without food drug inderal. Each dose of InnoPran XL shouldbe taken in the same way, either with or without food drug inderal.
• Take Inderal at the same time every day whenever possible drug inderal. InnoPran XLshould be taken at bedtime (approximately 10 p.m.) drug inderal.
• Do not crush, chew, break, or open the long-acting or extended-releasecapsules (Inderal LA, InnoPran XL) drug inderal. Swallow them whole drug inderal.

What happens if I miss a dose?
• Take the missed dose as soon as you remember drug inderal. However, if it is almosttime for the next dose, skip the missed dose and take only the next regularlyscheduled dose drug inderal. Do not take a double dose of this medication drug inderal.
What happens if I overdose?
• Seek emergency medical attention drug inderal.
• Symptoms of a Inderal overdose include a slow heartbeat, shortness ofbreath, fainting, dizziness, weakness, confusion, nausea, and vomiting drug inderal.
What should I avoid while taking Inderal?
• Use caution when driving, operating machinery, or performing other hazardousactivities drug inderal. Inderal may cause drowsiness, dizziness, and blood pressure changes drug inderal. If you experience drowsiness or dizziness, avoid these activities drug inderal.
• Use alcohol cautiously drug inderal. Alcohol may increase drowsiness and dizzinesswhile taking this medication drug inderal.
• Tell your doctor and dentist that you are taking this medication beforehaving surgery drug inderal.
What are the possible side effects of Inderal?
• If you experience any of the following serious side effects, stop takingInderal and call your doctor immediately or seek emergency medical treatment:
· an allergic reaction (difficulty breathing; closing of the throat;swelling of the lips, tongue, or face; hives);
· wheezing or shortness of breath;
· an unusually slow or irregular heart beat;
· swelling of the feet or lower legs;
· leg pain or cramping;
· sudden weight gain (more than 2 pounds in one day or 5 pounds in oneweek);
· chest (heart) pain;
· unusually cold or blue feet and hands; or
· skin rash drug inderal.
• If you experience any of the following less serious side effects, continuetaking Inderal and talk to your doctor:
· fatigue or confusion;
· headache or dizziness;
· weak pulse or mildly slow heart rate;
· diarrhea, constipation, gas, nausea, or vomiting;
· depression;
· nightmares; or
· impotence (difficulty obtaining or maintaining an erection) drug inderal.
• Side effects other than those listed here may also occur drug inderal. Talk to yourdoctor about any side effect that seems unusual or that is especially bothersome drug inderal.
What other drugs will affect Inderal?

· another heart medicine such as nifedipine (Procardia, Adalat), reserpine(Serpasil), verapamil (Calan, Verelan, Isoptin), diltiazem (Cardizem, DilacorXR), clonidine (Catapres), or digoxin (Lanoxin);
· a diabetes medication such as insulin, glyburide (Diabeta, Micronase,Glynase), glipizide (Glucotrol), chlorpropamide (Diabinese), or metformin (Glucotrol);
· a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) such as ibuprofen (Motrin,Advil, others), naproxen (Aleve, Anaprox, Naprosyn, others), or ketoprofen (Orudis,Orudis KT, Oruvail);
· a respiratory medication such as albuterol (Ventolin, Proventil, Volmax,others), bitolterol (Tornalate), metaproterenol (Alupent, Metaprel), pirbuterol(Maxair), terbutaline (Brethaire, Brethine, Bricanyl), or theophylline (Theo-Dur,Theochron, Theolair, others), and others;
· warfarin (Coumadin);
· haloperidol (Haldol); or
· a prescription or over-the-counter cough medication, cold medicine,or diet pill drug inderal.
• You may not be able to take Inderal, or you may require a dosage adjustmentor special monitoring during treatment if you are taking any of the medicineslisted above drug inderal.
• Drugs other than those listed here may also interact with Inderal oraffect your condition drug inderal. Talk to your doctor and pharmacist before taking anyprescription or over-the-counter medicines, including herbal products drug inderal.
