What is the most important information I should know about Inderal?

What is Inderal?
• Inderal is in a class of drugs called beta-blockers inderal anxiety. Beta-blockers affectthe heart and circulatory system (arteries and veins) inderal anxiety.
• Inderal is used to reduce hypertension (high blood pressure), to treatangina (chest pain), to treat irregular heartbeats, to treat migraines, to treattremor, and to reduce the risk of a recurrent heart attack inderal anxiety.
• Inderal may also be used for purposes other than those listed in thismedication guide inderal anxiety.
What should I discuss with my healthcare provider before taking Inderal?
• Do not take Inderal if you are taking thioridazine (Mellaril) inderal anxiety. Takingthese medicines together could result in dangerous, even fatal, irregular heartbeats inderal anxiety.
• Before taking Inderal, tell your doctor if you have
· asthma;
· heart problems such as low blood pressure, a slow heart rate, heartblock, sick sinus syndrome, a pacemaker, heart failure, or others;
· diabetes;
· depression;
· thyroid disease;
· kidney disease;
· liver disease; or
· any type of circulation problems inderal anxiety.
• You may not be able to take Inderal, or you may require a dosage adjustmentor special monitoring during treatment if you have any of the conditions listedabove inderal anxiety.
• Inderal is in the FDA pregnancy category C inderal anxiety. This means it is not knownwhether Inderal will be harmful to an unborn baby inderal anxiety. Do not take this medicationwithout first talking to your doctor if you are pregnant or could become pregnantduring treatment inderal anxiety.

How should I take Inderal?

• Inderal can be taken with or without food inderal anxiety. Each dose of InnoPran XL shouldbe taken in the same way, either with or without food inderal anxiety.

• Do not crush, chew, break, or open the long-acting or extended-releasecapsules (Inderal LA, InnoPran XL) inderal anxiety. Swallow them whole inderal anxiety.

What happens if I miss a dose?
• Take the missed dose as soon as you remember inderal anxiety. However, if it is almosttime for the next dose, skip the missed dose and take only the next regularlyscheduled dose inderal anxiety. Do not take a double dose of this medication inderal anxiety.
What happens if I overdose?
• Seek emergency medical attention inderal anxiety.
• Symptoms of a Inderal overdose include a slow heartbeat, shortness ofbreath, fainting, dizziness, weakness, confusion, nausea, and vomiting inderal anxiety.
What should I avoid while taking Inderal?
• Use caution when driving, operating machinery, or performing other hazardousactivities inderal anxiety. Inderal may cause drowsiness, dizziness, and blood pressure changes inderal anxiety. If you experience drowsiness or dizziness, avoid these activities inderal anxiety.
• Use alcohol cautiously inderal anxiety. Alcohol may increase drowsiness and dizzinesswhile taking this medication inderal anxiety.
• Tell your doctor and dentist that you are taking this medication beforehaving surgery inderal anxiety.
What are the possible side effects of Inderal?
• If you experience any of the following serious side effects, stop takingInderal and call your doctor immediately or seek emergency medical treatment:
· an allergic reaction (difficulty breathing; closing of the throat;swelling of the lips, tongue, or face; hives);
· wheezing or shortness of breath;
· an unusually slow or irregular heart beat;
· swelling of the feet or lower legs;
· leg pain or cramping;
· sudden weight gain (more than 2 pounds in one day or 5 pounds in oneweek);
· chest (heart) pain;
· unusually cold or blue feet and hands; or
· skin rash inderal anxiety.
• If you experience any of the following less serious side effects, continuetaking Inderal and talk to your doctor:
· fatigue or confusion;
· headache or dizziness;
· weak pulse or mildly slow heart rate;
· diarrhea, constipation, gas, nausea, or vomiting;
· depression;
· nightmares; or
· impotence (difficulty obtaining or maintaining an erection) inderal anxiety.
• Side effects other than those listed here may also occur inderal anxiety. Talk to yourdoctor about any side effect that seems unusual or that is especially bothersome inderal anxiety.
What other drugs will affect Inderal?
• Do not take Inderal if you are taking thioridazine (Mellaril) inderal anxiety. Takingthese medicines together could result in dangerous, even fatal, irregular heartbeats inderal anxiety.
• Before taking Inderal, tell your doctor if you are taking
· another heart medicine such as nifedipine (Procardia, Adalat), reserpine(Serpasil), verapamil (Calan, Verelan, Isoptin), diltiazem (Cardizem, DilacorXR), clonidine (Catapres), or digoxin (Lanoxin);
· a diabetes medication such as insulin, glyburide (Diabeta, Micronase,Glynase), glipizide (Glucotrol), chlorpropamide (Diabinese), or metformin (Glucotrol);
· a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) such as ibuprofen (Motrin,Advil, others), naproxen (Aleve, Anaprox, Naprosyn, others), or ketoprofen (Orudis,Orudis KT, Oruvail);
· a respiratory medication such as albuterol (Ventolin, Proventil, Volmax,others), bitolterol (Tornalate), metaproterenol (Alupent, Metaprel), pirbuterol(Maxair), terbutaline (Brethaire, Brethine, Bricanyl), or theophylline (Theo-Dur,Theochron, Theolair, others), and others;
· warfarin (Coumadin);
· haloperidol (Haldol); or
· a prescription or over-the-counter cough medication, cold medicine,or diet pill inderal anxiety.
• You may not be able to take Inderal, or you may require a dosage adjustmentor special monitoring during treatment if you are taking any of the medicineslisted above inderal anxiety.
• Drugs other than those listed here may also interact with Inderal oraffect your condition inderal anxiety. Talk to your doctor and pharmacist before taking anyprescription or over-the-counter medicines, including herbal products inderal anxiety.
